For most people the holidays are a time for relaxing with family and friends, enjoying delightful holiday foods and easing up a bit on strict diets and busy schedules. This is true for most, but not all because in the world there are regular people - and runners. Individuals that love to run simply cant put it aside. It simply has to be a part of their everyday lives. Its not just because they like to exercise, its because they simply love to run. Hot or cold, early or late, holiday or regular day - they just have to run. Well whether you are one of these people, or know one you will want to know about these road races going on during the holiday season in the Greater Lansing area. Races like these, partnered with fun local holiday events, are a way for big-time runners to feel festive and its a good way for new runners to do something new and unique. Maybe this year, instead of putting on 10 pounds over the holidays eating party mix, Christmas cookies and ham, you get involved in one of these fun holiday races. Some even have prizes for running in holiday costumes! Make a fun and smart decision to be healthy this holiday season and do something new, like run a 5K dressed as the Grinch, or maybe Scrooge.
