The Capital City River Run, Lansing's premier road race, is just around the corner and literally hundreds of volunteers are still needed to make the event a complete success. The weekend of races which include a Kids race, 5K, Half Marathon and full Marathon depends on dedicated volunteers for much needed duties such as course marshal, help with refreshments for runners, medal distribution and much more. Being a volunteer for a great event like this can be a truly rewarding and memorable experience. Get involved with something positive and local like this and bring a friend! Before you know it you'll be doing more than helping out - you'll be having fun. All you need to do to get started is visit the Capital City River Run website and follow the prompts for event volunteers. You choose your assignment and you'll be given directions on where to go and what to expect on the day of the big race. Any questions should be directed to Meghan Ziehmer with the GLSA at 517-377-1425 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
