With the 4th of July right around the corner its a no-brainer to spend some time thinking about what it means to be American. One of those things for me is the desire and ability to work together for a common goal. Well, that's exactly what ten different sports communities from across the state did in the creation of a statewide brand for sports destination marketing organizations. Riding on the momentum of the state's wildly popular tourism campaign, this marketing engine to boost sports event development in the state is called Pure Michigan Sports, and the goal is to attract sports events of all shapes and sizes to the great state of Michigan.
Sports have a rich history in the State of Michigan. From hosting world-renowned events like the Ryder Cup, NCAA Men's and Women's Final Four and the Super Bowl to youth activities generating lifetime memories, Michigan has a wide variety of destinations from which to select for your next event.
Founding partners of the Pure Michigan Sports initiative include organizations representing the following destinations: Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Greater Lansing, Mt. Pleasant, Traverse City and Saginaw/Bay City/Midland. The list of partner organizations for the statewide-initiative will be continuing to grow into the future.
With woods, water, big cities, small towns and four great seasons, Michigan has great venues and experienced professionals to make any sports event a true success. And as Americans have shown over the years, we're stronger together. Learn more about Pure Michigan Sports and you'll find out for yourself all the unique offerings available in the mitten state!
