LANSING, Mich. – The Greater Lansing Sports Authority (GLSA) is pleased to announce that Twistars USA Gymnastics Club and the Summit Sports and Ice Complex will host the 2017 Twistars Gymnastics Invitational, January 6 - 8, 2017.
The international invitational event will bring over 2,200 gymnasts from across the US and Canada to the Greater Lansing area for the three-day competition. As the first major invitational meet of the season, top gymnasts from clubs across the country will be in attendance.
Twistars USA Gymnastics Club, which was named the top gymnastics club in the United States in 2009, is home to the 2011 World Champion and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, Jordyn Wieber. The club owners and coaches, John and Kathryn Geddert, have continued to put Twistars USA on the map and have brought excellence to an increasingly demanding and rigorous sport.
The event is also a Nastia Liukin Cup Qualifier event which attracts more athletes because the national governing body only award Nastia Cup Qualifiers to 25 U.S. gyms total each year in the months of January and February.
