MSU Bikes Service Center
How much do I love the MSU Bikes Service Center? A lot, let me tell you why. For two summers I hadn't rode my bike. It was crummy. My wife had her bike, the kids had theirs, but my bike was broken and so I didn't ride it. You know what happened? Because I couldn't ride mine, I saw that everyone else was riding theirs much less. Summer is the time for riding bikes, right? Well, I know that but I put it off because I didn't know what was wrong or how to get it fixed. Well this year at Be A Tourist In Your Own Town I went to the MSU Bikes Service Center and asked them, "Whats the deal?" I found out they are a bike service shop that just happens to be located in Bessey Hall on MSU Campus and they take all kinds of bikes for all kinds of repair. Awesome! Now because this is a University entity, mostly for the convenience of students, they didnt try to sell me a new bike or charge me an arm and a leg, or tell me my bike is not worth fixing and get some new thing because mine is old (yes, its the same bike I took to class when I was a student at State) - they just fixed it. Quickly and for a good price. Now I feel dumb that I waited two whole summers to get my bike fixed. MSU Bikes Service Center made it so easy. They do sell bikes if you're looking to buy one, and the staff is awesome, as college students are apt to be. They are open year round, but just during the week (college students take their weekends very seriously, remember) so go there between 10am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Oh, another cool thing, they have a free air station outside 24/7 in case your bike tire needs air.Check them out. They are a hidden local gem.
