What The Lansing Sports Commission Does

Our mission is to be the leading voice of sports tourism in the Greater Lansing area and to promote economic growth by attracting a diverse range of sporting events to the region. We will strive to enhance the quality of life for area residents through the development of local sports and fitness programs for all ages, with a special emphasis on the underserved population, and to support the continued development and maintenance of safe, high-quality athletic facilities.

Meghan Ziehmer, STS, CTA

Meghan is the Executive Director of the Lansing Sports Commission. A graduate of Michigan State University, she brings a wealth of experience managing athletic events.

Tom Kinder, STS, CTA

Tom Kinder is the Sports Development Manager for the LSC. Tom's relationships throughout the region's sports community help ensure your event is connected to a winning team!

Miranda Coleman, STS, CTA

Miranda Coleman serves as the Sports Development Manager for the Lansing Sports Commission ® . Miranda brings years of coaching and event management experience to the team.

Barbara Powers, CTA

Barbara Powers serves as the Sports Event Manager for the Lansing Sports Commission ® . She works to coordinate and manage several LSC-created events, service as the local organizing committee member on LSC-secured events and manage long-term and ongoing event partnerships.

Lindsay Fast, CTA

Lindsay Fast joined the Lansing Sports Commission in May of 2025 as the Sports Services Manager. She brings over six seasons of experience as Executive Secretary and Office Manager for the Michigan State University Hockey program, where was instrumental in managing operations…
