Barbara Powers-Garmyn, CTA

Barbara Powers-Garmyn serves as the Sports Event Manager for the LSC.  She will work to coordinate and manage several LSC-created events, serve as the local organizing committee member on LSC-secured events, and manage long-term and ongoing event partnerships.

Prior to joining the LSC, Barbara worked as the Director of Hockey Operations for Michigan State Men’s Ice Hockey. 

Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Bowling Green State University, where she competed in cross country and track. She then completed a master’s degree in sports management at the University of Tennessee and worked as a graduate assistant in student-athlete services at the Thornton Academic Center.

In her free time, you can find Barbara enjoying the local running scene or out on one of Lansing’s many golf courses.
