Lansing Sports CommissionTM projects significant economic impact
LANSING, MICH. – Mar. 26, 2024 – Seven sports events will bring more than 3,000 athletes and additional thousands of coaches, families and spectators to the greater Lansing area throughout April. The Lansing Sports CommissionTM is excited to host USA Hockey Nationals, NCAA Women’s Bowling, Midwest Fencing Championships and more.
“Greater Lansing is excited to welcome thousands of athletes from across the country next month,” said Meghan Ziehmer, Executive Director for the Lansing Sports CommissionTM. “Events like these fuel our local economy and support local hotels, restaurants and venues. It's a true team effort, and we're grateful for our partners and volunteers who make it all possible.”
USA Hockey - Tier II Girls U19 Nationals
Biggby Coffee East Lansing Ice Cube/Munn Ice Arena, April 3-7
The top 28 teams in the country, comprising a total of approximately 500 athletes, will compete for a national title.

Royal Scot Golf & Bowl, April 4-6
This NCAA event brings the country’s top collegiate bowlers to Lansing, Michigan.

Midwest Fencing Championships
IM East at Michigan State University, April 6-7
Michigan State Fencing Club and the Lansing Sports Commission are proud to host more than 500 competitors during the Midwest Fencing Championships.

Midwest Women’s Lacrosse League Playoff
Spartan Greens at Michigan State University, April 13-14
Six teams from the region will play over two days. All games will be hosted at Michigan State University’s newest facility, Spartan Greens Turf Complex.

Two hundred competitors will convene at Royal Scot for the Storm Youth Championships.

Lansing Spring Classic (Nationals Soccer)
Greater Lansing, April 26-28
Approximately 1300 athletes will compete at soccer fields across the Greater Lansing area during this national soccer event.

MTA Homegrounds, April 27-29
The MTA hosts 10 major trap shoots per year with a facility that includes 44 trap fields and more than 150 campsites on 300+ acres.
