LANSING, MICH. – April 30, 2025 – The Lansing Sports Commission® is pleased to announce it has promoted Miranda Coleman to Sports Development Manager.
“Miranda brings an unmatched energy to our team, always radiating positivity, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude that lifts us all,” says Meghan Ziehmer, executive director of the Lansing Sports Commission. “She exemplifies the dedication and care that drives our success, and I know she will thrive in this new role.”
As the Sports Development Manager, Coleman is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sports rights holders, national governing bodies, local facility representatives and the lodging community to solicit, secure and create sporting events for Greater Lansing.
Coleman is often found on-site at events helping to market, problem solve and ensure event success. Greater Lansing sports events run smoothly due to the time she spends coordinating services and developing relationships with event planners and local venues.
Coleman has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Olivet College and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in Sports Administration. She graduated from Lansing Everett High School and played on their back-to-back State Championship girls’ basketball teams. Both of her 2000 and 2001 teams were inducted into the class of 2022 Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame.
