National championships and regional showdowns to bring thousands of athletes and fans to the region

LANSING, MICH. – May 2, 2025 – This May, Greater Lansing will take center stage as it hosts a lineup of major sporting events, including national archery and tennis championships, youth tournaments, and collegiate competitions. The Lansing Sports Commission® is proud to welcome thousands of athletes, coaches, and fans to the region. 

“We’re thrilled to host such a wide range of tournaments and welcome athletes from across the country,” says Meghan Ziehmer, executive director of the Lansing Sports Commission. “These events generate significant economic impact for our community and showcase Greater Lansing’s high-quality venues and hospitality.” 

Event Highlights

MTA Spring Team Shoot  

May 1-4 | Michigan Trapshooting Association, Mason 

More than 500 competitors will convene in Mason for the MTA Spring Team Shoot.

GLIAC Baseball Championship  

May 8-10 | Jackson Field, Downtown Lansing 

Six teams will compete in the double elimination tournament, which and runs from May 8-10.

Moneyball Shootout  

May 10-11 | Charlotte school gyms   

This massive annual basketball event hosted by Moneyball Sportswear will bring approx. 900 athletes to the Lansing area.

USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals  

May 15-18 | Hope Sports Complex, Lansing  

This event is for members of the USA Archery Collegiate Archery Program and offers competitive divisions for Recurve, Compound, Fixed Pins and Barebow.

Senior Qualifier Lansing - Bobby Chapp Memorial 

May 17-18 | Erickson Park, Lansing  

This event offers a blend of competitive spirit and remembrance, honoring Bobby Chapp's contributions to the sport. Don't miss the opportunity to see these skilled athletes in action!

Storm Youth Bowling Championship 

May 23-25 | Royal Scot Bowling Center, Lansing  

This three day, family-friendly event celebrates youth bowling with one day of seminars and practice sessions followed by two days of tournaments.

USTA Level 4 Open Court One Memorial Weekend Dominate Duo 

May 24-26 | Multiple tennis courts across Greater Lansing  

This event will consist of over 500 competitors from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana.
