LANSING, Mich.— The Greater Lansing Sports Authority, the Lansing Hockey Club and the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) are proud to bring the Girl’s Tier III State Playoffs to Greater Lansing for the first time. The tournament will be held February 28 to March 1 at the Summit Sports and Ice Complex.

While numerous MAHA events have been held in the region in past years this is the first girl’s state playoff event and serves to be a celebration of girl’s hockey. The event will welcome teams from Marquette to Midland.

“The Greater Lansing community is incredibly proud to be host statewide hockey event,” said Mike Price, Executive Director of the Greater Lansing Sports Authority. “This event will bring exciting tournament hockey to the community and give memories of a lifetime to competitive girl’s teams from across the state.”

Josh Hobrla, Hockey Director with the Summit Sports and Ice Complex shares Price’s enthusiasm for the event.

“The Summit Sports and Ice Complex is thrilled to be hosting the 2020 MAHA Girls Tier III State Playoffs.  This is an exciting opportunity to showcase not only our community, but the growth of girl’s hockey in Michigan,” said Hobrla. “It’s been a team effort on behalf of the Greater Lansing Sports Authority, Lansing Hockey Club, and Summit staff to work through the logistics of the tournament and ensure we will be running the highest quality event possible for all attendees. The support provided by the GLSA helps make the hosting process as seamless as possible.”
