3,000 student athletes from across the country to compete in Mason, MI July 9–13
LANSING, MICH. – July 8, 2025 – The Lansing Sports Commission® is excited to welcome the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship to the Michigan Trapshooting Association in Mason, July 9–13.
The national event will draw 3,000 student athletes from 460 high schools across the country, along with thousands of coaches, families, and spectators.
“We’re proud to support events like this that not only bring top-tier athletes to our region but also create lasting economic benefits for our local communities,” said Meghan Ziehmer, Executive Director of the Lansing Sports Commission. “The USA Clay Target League is an incredible partner, and we’re honored to help provide a world-class experience for these student athletes and their families.”
The championship is the culmination of a competitive season involving more than 38,000 athletes nationwide. Teams and individuals will compete in qualifying rounds Friday and Saturday, leading up to the final Championship Rounds on Sunday, July 13.
“The League’s National Championship is the premiere event that tens of thousands of high school athletes aspire to,” said John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League. “It's an amazing experience for the athletes, the teams, and the spectators that attend the three-day event.”
