For more than 30 years, the Capital City River Run (CCRR) has brought runners, families, and the Lansing community together for a weekend of fun, fitness, and impact. Recognized by Runner’s World as one of the “10 Best Races You’ve Never Heard Of,” this annual event continues to grow in popularity while showcasing some of Lansing’s most scenic trails and downtown spaces.

The Capital City River Run offers events for all ages, abilities, and skill levels:

Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile course weaving through the heart of downtown Lansing, Michigan Avenue, and the Lansing River Trail with views of Crego Park, Hawk Island, and Potter Park Zoo.

5K Run/Walk: A fast, fun course perfect for new runners, walkers, or anyone chasing a personal best.

Sohn Kids Races: Taking place Saturday, September 20 at Impression 5 Science Center and the Lansing River Trail, the kids races are a family favorite. Young participants enjoy a one-mile race along the River Trail, receive a medal and stainless steel water bottle, and are invited to a pizza party and museum play day afterward.

All half marathon and 5K participants receive a crew neck sweatshirt (choice of two colors), a finisher’s medal, and chip-timed race results provided by the Michigan Running Foundation.
